WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT?
There are tryouts.
Springfield Baseball Club (SBC) operates closely with Springfield Little League (SLL) but is independent from the Little League Program. Your child must participate in the SLL Spring In-House Program to be eligible to play SBC. It is also important to note that being selected for the SBC Travel baseball has no bearing or impact whatsoever on who will be selected for the Springfield Little League (SLL) District/Tournament team at the conclusion of the Little League In-House season. The (SBC) Travel program is competitive in nature, We will remain focused on our goal of player development and improving our player overall skills and versatility - and providing better and more opportunities for the players.
Unfortunately, if participation is greater than 26 players per age group, player cuts may be necessary in the SBC travel program. We anticipate there will be two teams per age group.
Team rosters will be selected based on skill level in order to give players as many reps possible versus equally skilled opponents. Team rosters may or may not be evenly divided; one team may have more players based on skill level. Finally, the head coach(s) may recommend players from either team play games on the other team in order to get important reps at a secondary position or to see the players progress versus different levels of competition. Remember, the ultimate goal is to give all the players the best opportunities to improve their skill set and become the best player possible.
The (SBC) 8 and 9-year-old Travel schedule consists of 8-10 games played on Sunday's beginning early April through early June. Player Cost for (SBC) 8 and 9-year-old Travel Baseball will be $100.00 Players will receive a jersey, hat and insurance coverage.

IS THERE A SNACK BAR?
Our Snack bar is powered by parent participation. We need your help. Snack Bar duties are available throughout the season. If you do not wish to volunteer for snack bar duty, we offer a $85 opt out fee.
Some of the food and beverages available to purchase throughout the season include: soft pretzels, hot dogs, breakfast sandwiches, candy, frozen desserts, soda, water, etc.
Venmo and cash are accepted.
